Our talented, professional staff sets an example for young people and points them toward the path to academic and professional success, keeping young people on track with a positive plan for their future. All children and teens are encouraged to follow their interests and reach their potential as productive, responsible citizens — and our special staff shows them how it’s done.

Shanna Warren, Chief Executive Officer, has been working for the Club for 15 years and oversees and manages our strategic planning and operations in support of our organizational mission and goals. Shanna has a B.A. in Political Science, an M.A. in Organizational Leadership, and most recently completed performance management for effective management of non profit organizations at Harvard University.  Shanna has a background in working with community, youth, and children’s organizations. She continues to lead the Burbank Nonprofit Coalition, a group of over 20 nonprofit organizations who collaborate on projects, share resources, and find ways to reduce duplication of services so that they can more efficiently focus on critical needs in the community. Shanna was named Burbank’s Woman of the Year in 2012.

Brittany Vaughan, Director of Operations, holds an M.A. in Children’s Literature, a B.A. in English, and is currently pursuing a Masters in Public Administration with a nonprofit emphasis. Throughout her career, she has earned multiple awards and has presented at several industry conferences. Having held various positions at the Boys & Girls Club of Burbank and Greater East Valley over the last 13 years, Brittany now plans, develops and oversees the implementation and supervision of our programs and program staff, a crucial undertaking that helps ensure there is plenty to interest and benefit every young person we are lucky to serve.   

Mira Shah, Finance Director, holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Finance and is a licensed CPA. Since she came on board, Mira has managed the day-to-day financial and Human Resource functions & operations of the Club, helping us to continue our stellar record of efficiency and ensuring that as much funding as possible goes directly to our facilities and programs. When Mira’s not "crunching the numbers,” she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children.

Susan Sebastian, Director of Development, has been with the Club for more than two years. An accomplished professional who has helped craft successful creative campaigns and marketing initiatives that built on image and increased awareness, Susan brings more than ten years of marketing and communications experience to the Club. In addition to her marketing background, Susan has worked on capital and annual fundraising campaigns, as well as strategic planning and rebranding efforts. Prior to her marketing experience, Susan worked in the entertainment field as a comedy writer, achieving more than 40 produced credits, and taught sitcom writing through UCLA Extension. She is a Burbank resident and serves as Chair of BBP (Burbank Business Partners) and is a member of Burbank Noon Kiwanis.

Jay Jackson, Athletic Director, has been employed at the Boys & Girls Club of Burbank and Greater East Valley since we opened our doors in 1995. Jay has been involved in playing and coaching sports his whole life at various levels. In high school he was on the varsity teams in two sports — baseball and football — and went on to play baseball professionally for Club Indios De Juárez in the Mexican League. Ever the competitor, he firmly believes that involvement in sports is an excellent character-builder for young people. He has been trained as a youth sports professional by such organizations as LA 84, Burbank Parks and Recreation, the State of California, and the Ohio Youth Commission.

Arpineh Khodagholian, Creative Arts Director, has her Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies.  At the tender age of five, she began ballet classes.  Her love of dance is now expressed through choreography, where she has put together numerous dance numbers for the Club's various dance teams, many of which have been showcased throughout the Burbank community.  It wasn't until her teen years, that she began to delve into various other artistic expressions, including drawing, and painting.  As the Club's Creative Arts Director, Arpineh, or "Arp" as she is known, is combining her passion for the arts while simultaneously helping Club members discover their own artistic passions.

Kevin Bulone, Recreational Programs Director, has been working at the Boys & Girls Club since 2000. He was the Gamesroom Coordinator through 2006 and then became an independent contractor for the Boys & Girls Club to teach chess to the Boys & Girls Club enrichment sites as well as the Main Club. Additionally, Kevin has been teaching chess to the children of the community for almost 10 years through the City of Burbank Parks & Recreation. Now the Recreational Program Director for Boys & Girls Club, Kevin has the opportunity to provide the community with activities that will help the children enhance their social and critical thinking skills for many years to come.

Lupe Herrera, Teen DirectorLupe Herrera, Teen Director, began working for the Club in 2008 as a Driver at the main site and has worked in various positions at the Club.  In 2009, Lupe became the High School Director at Canoga Park High School for five years and was successful in the growth of the program. During her time as High School Director, she created an immersion program exclusively for undocumented students, mainly from Latin America, to assimilate into the American culture by providing English language acquisition programs, field trips to Universities & Museums, and more, but most importantly invited them to be part of the Boys & Girls Club family.  Lupe’s unconditional love and compassion towards youth is what drives her to work hard to make a difference in young people lives. 

Mike Graceffo, Teen Program Coordinator, brings more than 40 years' experience with the City of Burbank Parks and Recreation Department to the Club.  He specializes in teen summer camps, counselor in training programs, coaching, basketball camps, teen trips and dances and special events.  Mike grew up in Burbank and attend Burbank schools.  He has coached at all four local high schools, is a member of the City of Burbank Walk of Fame and is in the CYO Hall of Fame.  His love and enthusiasm for the youth of our community is renown.
